I'm Lindsay, an artist, illustrator and maker based in Glasgow, Scotland. Alongside my illustration and public art commissions, I love painting furniture and making jewellery and ceramics pieces - soap dishes, sconces and plant hangers - which relate to my illustration work, featuring quirky human, animal and cosmic characters.

JEWELLERY PROCESS
All my jewellery is entirely made and decorated by hand - although I repeat designs, no two pairs are completely identical. I decorate using fine brushes and black or different coloured underglaze and often scratch into this with a sharp implement to create fine lines, known as sgraffito. The pieces are then fired a first time before being glazed on the front for a glossy finish and fired a second time. Finally, fixtures are attached - I use hypoallergenic stainless steel earposts and sterling silver hoops and chains to minimise irritation. My jewellery is fun, bold and graphic, bringing an arty air to your attire!

After decoration the pieces are fired a first time and come out looking like this. Next I apply a gloss glaze...
And here they are after a second firing! The gloss glaze has come up nice and shiny and the colours are brighter...

I happily take on commissions when I have the time... that could mean making a ceramic piece, a pair of earrings, a handpainted piece of furniture, even a mural!
